QSRMC technical staff have previously provided the SpeCC assessment services under contract. So following the merger, assessment services to SpeCC registered firms will continue seamlessly.
QSRMC is a management system (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) and product certification body accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, and an approved body notified by the UK to the European Union under Article 18 of the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC) to provide factory production control and product certification as required by European standards. These certification services are provided by QSRMC and by QSRMC trading as CPC. Following the merger, QSRMC will also trade as SpeCC.
Professor Peter Hewlett, Chairman of SpeCC Ltd, said today:
“The number of SpeCC registered members has increased substantially over the last three years reflecting a growing acknowledgement of the status that our registered contractors have within the industry. Merging with QSRMC creates a combined capability based on a natural synergy that will underwrite future certification activity and offers complimentary opportunity to our mutual clients.”
Henry Webber CBE, Chairman of QSRMC, said today:
“The Quality Scheme for Ready Mixed Concrete exists to help both purchasers and producers. The scheme’s expertise, rigorous standards and added value all combine to make QSRMC the gold standard which is unequalled in the UK. The new partnership with SpeCC is a logical development for both organisations. By linking the quality management of concrete production and concrete construction there will be gains for all, not least for construction clients.”
