NEW HOME AND NEW JOBS FOR THRIVING ASBESTOS CONSULTANCY

A thriving asbestos management consultancy has moved into new premises after receiving a £100,000 grant from Advantage West Midlands, and created 10 new jobs in the process.

Environmental Essentials switched to their new base at Silverdale Enterprise Park in July, and has taken on new site-based technical consultants, and sales and marketing staff, to comply with the stipulations of the funding award.

The newly created roles meet increasing demand for the company’s services in asbestos surveys, air testing, and monitoring of removal or remediation of existing asbestos.

Commercial Director Richard Powner said: “The grant has enabled us to move to prestigious new premises, which reflect our professional image and will allow us to maintain our high levels of customer service and commitment.”

The move will enable the firm to host asbestos awareness courses in a purpose-built state-of-the-art training room, carry out detailed asbestos testing in new laboratories, and allow further expansion of their workforce from the current 42 employees.

Asbestos is present in many buildings dating back to before 1999, when it was finally outlawed as a building material. Exposure to asbestos can cause fatal conditions like lung cancer, asbestosis, and mesothelioma.

Environmental Essentials’ training courses show businesses and organisations how to deal with asbestos if it is disturbed. Further details are available from the company website: www.environmentalessentials.co.uk
