Horbury Group grows with Bank of Scotland Corporate

Rotherham-based Horbury Group is bucking the national trend in the construction sector, after it secured £6.8million of funding from Bank of Scotland Corporate's Sheffield team.

The firm is on track to grow its turnover to £54m and plans to use the funding to help it achieve its goal. In addition, Horbury Group has just moved into its new 28,000 sq. ft. offices on South Grove, and has launched a new Mechanical an Electrical engineering business called Croft Electrical to complement its existing offering.

Horbury can fulfil roles as either the main contractor or as a subcontractor and has seven separate companies which have a trading record of over 20 years, providing services such as general construction, property development, drylining and partitioning, joinery, ceilings, plant hire and health and safety. The group employs 80 full time staff with over 800 sub contracted staff working on behalf of the company at any given time.

Leigh Churchill, Financial Director for Horbury Group, said, “The funding from Bank of Scotland Corporate will help us in achieving our goals for growth over the coming year. We have a considerable pipeline of work and with the new premises and launch of Croft Electrical we have plenty to be keeping us busy. Changing to Bank of Scotland Corporate was a lot smoother than we ever dreamed and the team from Sheffield who put the deal together pulled out all the stops to enable the finance package to be realised.”

Adam Barraclough, Director at Bank of Scotland Corporate, said, “Horbury Group is an exciting business that through its constituent parts is delivering on some of the most exciting projects in the UK, such as the Beetham Tower, Britain’s tallest residential building, and the new law courts in Manchester. The group has a very robust business and we look forward to working with management for many years to come.”
