REVOLUTIONARY WINDOW LAUNCHED BY JELD-WEN

The new DreamVu™ window offers market-leading U-Values ranging from 2.0W/m2K to 0.7 W/m2K – allowing it to meet Code level six requirements. The window can be supplied bespoke to individual requirements and it is currently the only UK volume manufactured window that can carry glass units up to 46.4mm. This allows for much greater flexibility for building designers to achieve increased high performance or acoustic properties.
All DreamVu™ windows are factory glazed, with options including double or triple insulating glazed units, warm edge or standard spacer bars and gas filling, which further improves thermal performance.
For acoustic performance, the DreamVu™ window can be supplied with thicker glass in order to meet project requirements. The new window is also available in a choice of factory finishes in bespoke and standard colours to prolong lifespan.
Vicky Severn, Product Manager for JELD-WEN, explains: “The advantage of DreamVu™ is that it enables the windows in a building to meet the 2016 requirement for zero-carbon homes today. This enables building designers to satisfy the ever more stringent energy and acoustic performance requirements of modern buildings.
High performance timber windows are much in demand at the moment and our new DreamVu™ range is already being specified for a number of prestigious eco houses across the country.”
JELD-WEN’s technical department is working closely with architects to provide timber windows that offer the very highest performance levels and that are capable of meeting the Code’s requirements, as well as reducing the carbon footprint of a building.
All DreamVu™ windows are manufactured from PEFC Chain of Custody certified timber, which ensures they originate from environmentally well-managed forests.
Vicky Severn continues: “The construction industry is more than ever looking for sustainable joinery products that offer greater energy efficiency. Timber is widely recognised as the only truly sustainable material for windows and doors and this is leading to strong demand from developers across the UK.”
JELD-WEN has a strict environmental policy and has recently established an in-house timber recycling facility at one of its factories. Here, JELD-WEN produces pellets from timber waste that it then uses to provide energy for its factory, in a 360 degree recycling operation.
The company’s window factory has been accredited to ISO14001, the environmental standard, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence in management of its resources for environmental benefit.
