Mobile MAYRISE provides marked improvements to street lighting management
Gloucestershire, UK, 01 October 2008 - Mayrise Systems has launched a new mobile system for managing street lighting. MAYRISE Mobile offers an all-in-one field mapping and reporting solution with wireless communication. The system synchronises with a central MAYRISE street lighting management systems and MapNow digital mapping.
MAYRISE Mobile incorporates comprehensive features for street lighting inventory validation, fault completion, cyclic maintenance and electrical testing. The integrated Mobile MapNow mapping allows display of Ordnance Survey MasterMap with street lighting overlays. The click to view maps enables easy identification of units and precision mapping to live update the central MapNow map base.
The latest MAYRISE Mobile applications have been developed for the advanced Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 software platform. MAYRISE equipped devices can be synchronised by connecting them directly to the user’s local area network (LAN) or by taking advantage of the wireless 3G or GPRS functionality already provided by many PDAs and smartphones.
The new mobile solution, which runs on standard PDAs, eliminates paperwork and offers significant improvements in efficiency and customer service. The combination of location mapping and quick, easy data entry screens speeds work in the field and then automatically updates the central system. The street lighting department, contractors and contact centres are then able to access information that is accurate up-to-the-minute.
“The new mobile application puts the power of a MAYRISE system into the hands of field operatives and, as it is live linked, data is always synchronised with the central system. This streamlines the management of street lighting operations and allows improvements in resource allocation, quicker response times and better customer service.” Says Mark Clarke, Managing Director of Mayrise Systems.
Mayrise Systems is a leading supplier of systems for managing front line council services such as street lighting, highways, street works and waste. The company also specialises in system integration to provide live service data to contact centres and web applications using standard web services.
